FTTH providers need to get out in front in the multi dimensional marketing race. Providers must grow subscribers, grow applications and grow the content base of their services - all in the name of keeping fiber utilization high. Many have underestimated the resource requirements of the marketing function. Still others struggle to understand the benefit of participatory, social media marketing tactics. First, we must change our view of the marketing function. Then we must invest in the tools and tricks to build a sustainable marketing platform that yields new, happy, and long-lasting customers.

 

Margaret Hines is the owner and principal consultant for Inspire Marketing LLC. Margaret has over 17 years in telecommunications industry serving technology and broadband providers. Prior to starting Inspire Marketing, she served in wholesale and enterprise sales, marketing and product management positions at ATT, Level 3, Metavante, and Fiserv.

Margaret is the immediate past President of the Executive MBA Alumni Association for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is an adjunct faculty member for Concordia University of Wisconsin, teaching Marketing Management. She holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and an undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis Mo.
