The FCC has released its National Broadband Plan, and it includes a goal of near-universal 100 megabit connectivity within a decade.  But what does it all mean for FTTH and next-generation broadband? 

 

Here's your chance to hear about that directly from key FCC staff who worked on putting the National Broadband Plan together, as the FTTH Council is focusing it's regular March members' meeting and workshop to the NBP and its implications for builders, operators and subscribers of next-generation broadband network.

 

The day-long session on Wednesday, March 24 – open to anyone with an interest in FTTH or broadband policy – will feature two members of the FCC's Omnibus Broadband Initiative presenting and taking questions on the NBP's recommendations.  Other sessions will cover policy issues such as network management and "net neutrality," as well as case studies and best practices by successful FTTH service providers, and an update on the broadband stimulus programs of last year’s economic recovery legislation.

The Sheraton Raleigh Hotel is located 15 miles approximately 20 to 25 minutes from the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (airport code RDU). Car rental is not a necessity, as there are a multitude of public transportation options available.
